Qi Xia was born in 1994 and grew up in Jingzhou, Hubei, China. He received his B.S. from Wuhan University of Science and Technology in 2016, where he majored in environmental engineering. Later, he moved to Changsha and joined the research group of Prof. Xinzhong Yuan at the National laboratory of Environment Biology and Pollution Control at Hunan University. By then, his work was focused on exploring novel photocatalysts for water splitting and pollutant degradation. After receiving his M.S. in July 2019, Qi joined Prof. Jian He’s group for pursuing his Ph.D. at The University of Hong Kong. He is currently working on the development of MOF-based heterogeneous catalysts for C–H bond functionalizations. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, reading and watching films.
